What is the minimum age?
25 years old. Drivers aged 21 to 24 can rent with a young driver fee of $15 per day.
What license do I need?
A valid driver’s license from the U.S., the Dominican Republic or your home country, held for at least 1 year, plus your passport or national ID.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes. A $500 security deposit (or its equivalent in Dominican pesos) is taken at pick-up and fully returned when the car comes back in the same condition.
What insurance is included?
Every rental includes the mandatory basic insurance required in the Dominican Republic. Full coverage can be added at pick-up.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancel for free up to 48 hours before pick-up for a 100% refund. See the Cancellation and Refund Policy for details.
How does paying over time work?
At checkout you can choose Affirm or Klarna if you are approved. They pay for the rental in full and you pay them back in installments under the terms they show you.
Where do I pick up the car?
We meet you at Cibao International Airport (STI), or we deliver to an address in Santiago.
Who provides the service?
The rental service is provided in the Dominican Republic by Bare Rent Car. Bare Rent Car USA LLC manages your reservation and your payment in U.S. dollars.
